FAQ
Hemp, CBD & THC
Cannabinoids are natural compounds found in the cannabis plant. They interact with the body’s Endocannabinoid System and may contribute to relaxation and overall well-being. CBD and THC are the two most well-known cannabinoids in the cannabis plant.
The endocannabinoid system is a complex network of receptors in the human body that plays a role in regulating various physiological processes, including mood, pain perception, and immune responses. It interacts with cannabinoids like CBD and THC as part of the body’s natural regulatory functions.
CBD, or cannabidiol, is a non-intoxicating cannabinoid derived from the cannabis plant. It is commonly used to support relaxation and overall well-being.
THC, or delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol, is a cannabinoid found in cannabis. Unlike CBD, it is psychoactive and is responsible for the euphoric effects commonly associated with cannabis use.
Yes, CBD products containing less than 0.3% THC are legal in Texas. However, THC in higher amounts remains illegal for recreational use. Texas House Bill 1325 was signed into law in June 2019 and authorizes the production, manufacture, retail sale, and inspection of industrial hemp crops and products. This also includes consumable hemp products which contain cannabidiol (CBD), as well as other edible parts of the hemp plant.
Full spectrum CBD products contain a wide range of cannabinoids, including CBD, THC (within legal limits), CBG, CNC, CBN, terpenes, and more. This combination is believed to enhance the potential beneficial effects due to the "entourage effect."
Broad spectrum CBD products contain multiple cannabinoids like full spectrum, but they are typically THC-free. This allows users to benefit from the entourage effect without the psychoactive effects of THC.
The entourage effect refers to the theory that cannabinoids and other compounds in cannabis work together synergistically, enhancing each other's therapeutic effects when consumed together in their natural ratios.
Delta 9 refers to delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC), the primary psychoactive compound found in cannabis. It is responsible for the euphoric effects associated with marijuana use. Delta-9 is legal in the state of Texas at concentrations below 0.3%.
Hemp and marijuana are both varieties of the cannabis plant, but they differ primarily in their THC content. Hemp contains low levels of THC (0.3% or less) and is commonly grown for industrial and wellness applications, while marijuana has higher THC levels and is used for recreational and medicinal purposes in certain states. While hemp cultivation is legal in Texas, marijuana remains prohibited at this time.
CBC, or cannabichromene, is a non-intoxicating cannabinoid found in cannabis. It is being studied for its potential benefits and role in supporting relieving properties.
CBG, or cannabigerol, is a non-intoxicating cannabinoid found in cannabis. Often referred to as the “stem cell” of cannabinoids, it is being researched for its potential restorative applications.
CBN, or cannabinol, is a cannabinoid that is typically found in aged cannabis plants. It may have sedative properties and is being studied for its potential to improve rest.
Yes, THC can show up on a drug test, especially if you consume products with significant THC content or on a regular basis. If you need to pass a drug test, it's important to use THC-free CBD products.
Unlike THC, CBD does not show up on a drug test. When shopping for CBD product, look for products that are THC-free, such as those made with CBD Isolate to minimize your chances of THC showing up on a drug test.
CBD isolate is a purer form of CBD, typically in a crystalline or powder form, where all other cannabinoids and plant compounds have been removed. It contains 99% or more CBD and formulated to be THC-free.
Please note that while the THC has been removed from CBD isolate, it is possible that THC can be formed in barely detectible amounts (fractions of a percent) due to heat exposure during the manufacturing process of hemp and CBD products.
CBD distillate is a concentrated form of CBD that retains a broad spectrum of cannabinoids and terpenes while removing impurities like chlorophyll and other plant matter. It often contains higher CBD content than full spectrum products.
