Hemp for Health by Jammin Canna’s team commends Governor Greg Abbott for his recent decision to veto Senate Bill 3 (SB3), a bill that would have effectively dismantled the hemp industry in Texas. His decisive action on June 22 affirms the importance of consumer safety and the therapeutic value of responsibly formulated and lawful hemp-derived products.
As a physician and veteran-founded CBD company, we have always advocated for smart, enforceable regulations that uphold product safety without eliminating access for patients and consumers who rely on these natural supports for pain, sleep, anxiety relief, and more, benefits recognized in a growing number of studies published by the National Institute of Health (NIH). We share our Governor’s concerns regarding unregulated, high-THC recreational products that violate federal and state law. We also believe in the power of cannabinoids; when properly formulated, dosed, and tested, they can bring meaningful relief to Texans.
Governor Abbott has called for a special session on July 21 to address the enforcement of current hemp regulations and explore new mechanisms to prevent illegal or unsafe cannabis products from entering the Texas marketplace. We welcome this initiative and hope to see a framework emerge that empowers responsible producers, safeguards public health, and reinforces the crucial role of medical professionals in guiding cannabinoid use.
We remain committed to helping our customers, patients, colleagues, and partners find safe, effective relief with our physician-formulated, third-party lab-tested, and lawful product line.
Thank you for your continued trust. We will keep you posted on the developments of the upcoming special legislative session as they unfold.
Sincerely,
